Dynamic Flex Casting

— A Targeted Casting Approach Designed to Improve Range of Motion, Alignment, and Functional Movement

What is Dynamic Flex Casting?

Dynamic flex casting is a specialized casting technique primarily used in pediatric physical therapy to effectively address the specific needs of children with various functional conditions and motor deficits. Dynamic flex casting utilizes flexible casting material that allows for movement while maintaining proper bone positioning to gently correct lower extremity alignment issues. This enables children to move naturally while gradually working toward correct alignment.

Dynamic flex casting aims to align bones through manipulation rather than stretching, promoting better gait and function without restricting movement or causing muscles to atrophy. When used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, dynamic flex casting can help optimize outcomes and support children in achieving their full potential.
